What We Believe
We believe:
- the Bible is God's Word and was given to us as a guide for our lives and to show us how we might be saved.
- God created the earth and all people in a perfect state.
- all people rebel against God and are in need of a savior.
- God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, in human form, to save us from our sins.
- Jesus lived a perfect life, suffered and died on the cross to pay the penalty for every person's sin of all time.
- that those who believe what Jesus did on the cross was the payment for their sins, will one day be in heaven with him.
- Jesus will come again to take us to heaven—both those who are alive and those who have already left this world.
- that those who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus and trust in him for their salvation will spend eternity apart from him.
What sets us apart?
- Following God doesn't always mean we are comfortable.
- Every member of our church has been equipped by God for ministry. Each of us has a special SHAPE.
- The acronym SHAPE stands for five things:
1. our Spiritual gift
2. our Heart of passion
3. our natural (God given) Abilities
4. our Personality
5. our Experiences - God has given each of us a unique SHAPE to make a difference in the world.
- The church has to be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure. God's message of love for the world is for all times.
- Anything worth doing for God is worth doing well. God is worthy of our excellence. God is worthy of our best. We strive to do our best in all things.
- Loving relationships should permeate every aspect of the church. God is a loving God and should be represented by a loving and accepting people. While our acceptance is not of people's sin, we also do not perceive our responsibility to be the shunning of people who do not meet our preconceived expectations.
- Lost people matter to God and therefore they should matter to God's people. Throughout his Word, God declares and exhibits his passion for all people, we can do nothing less.
- God calls every Christian to full devotion. God desires a relationship with people, one of full devotion. Full devotion means someone who is fully sold out to Jesus Christ and is willing to do whatever God calls them to do.
- Authenticity through continuous growth is the mark of the true Christian. Authentic Christians are people who are open to God's will and to change in their lives. They are always seeking to turn more and more parts of their lives over to Jesus Christ.
- Life-change happens through biblical teaching combined with the encouragement of a small group. God calls us to change and grow. When we combine God's truth from the Bible with the support, encouragement and accountability of a few trusted friends, we are able to undertake the hard work of battling those areas of our life where we need to change and grow.
