Pastor Ted Diedrick grew up
on a farm in Elyria, Ohio—a community just a half hour
west of the Cleveland area—to Dorothy and Carl Diedrick.
Ted graduated in '84 with an
MA
in genetics, and a Ph.D. in Plant Breeding, which he used
working most of his adult life
as a research scientist in
Kalamazoo, MI and Janesville, WI.
Ted felt led by the Holy Spirit —working through his pastor and father-in-law—to go into the ministry after 20 years of post-graduate work. Ted's God-given gift of knowledge and wisdom, his love and talent for music, his humble spirit and, his genuine love for the Lord and His people of Good Shepherd (not to mention the great staff!) will help him in his future leadership for this church.
Ted graduated with a Master's in Divinity in April 2009 from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO. He was ordained at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Janesville, WI on June 28, 2009, and was installed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on July 12, 2009. He feels blessed to be a part of the Circle Pines and surrounding area community.
Ted is married to Jennifer Smuda. Together they have five children: Eric-26, Peter-25, John and Anna-23, and Rebekah-20. Ted loves to get his hands dirty in landscaping, play and write music for the Lord, and read books that pertain to Creation-Science, gardening, and the Bible. Ted and Jennifer reside in Lino Lakes with two of their children: Anna and Eric, and two dogs.
