Mission
As parents, our task is not to simply train “good” children, but children who truly love God with all their hearts, souls, minds, and strength. Parents are to strive to raise children who have a vibrant, personal relationship with the LORD Jesus and whose lives will be bright and shining lights penetrating the darkness around them.
As Christian parents we seek to raise children who enthusiastically embrace the truth of the Gospel, children who love righteousness and hate evil, children who will be used by God to change the world and not conform to it.
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:2).
Wednesday Evening Confirmation Program (6th-8th grades)
This program is designed for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students, which begins in September and ends in end of April. Good Shepherd believes that in order to equip children to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, parent/guardian involvement is necessary. This is a crucial time in the spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, and social development of your child.
It is essential for you, as parents or guardians, to be involved in your child’s growth because your participation is key to the learning process. A child’s faith walk needs to be supported in the home and community, as well as in the church. Our Wednesday night programming creates opportunities for personal spiritual growth as well as increased development of family relationships.
A strength of Good Shepherd’s programming is that you, as a parent or guardian, attend Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:30 pm along with your child. Our commitment allows you to refresh your knowledge and understanding of your faith, as well as discuss the topics with your child at home. Faith discussions open doors which support family communication.
The Wednesday night schedule is as follows:
5:30 pm – 6:00 pm – Pizza Café
6:00 pm – 6:45 pm – Confirmation (pastor-led lesson)
6:45 pm – 7:30 pm – Student Small Group time
6:45 pm – 7:30 pm – Parenting Application time
If you have questions please contact Pastor Ted Diedrick at 763-784-8417 ext. 104 or pastorted@goodshepherdlink.org.

Sunday morning Lifeline Hour
The LifeLine Hour for 6th through 8th grade currently meets on Sunday morning for Bible Study at 9:15 A.M. This time is spent in learning more about God and what it means to be a child of God. It is focused on God's Word and learning more about our basic beliefs that allows the student to have a deeper relationship with God and teaches them how to make Godly decisions with the issues they face in everyday life.
Summer Stretch
Summer Stretch is a middle school summer ministry opportunity. Participants are from many different school districts and churches.
WHO IS IT FOR? Summer Stretch is about all ages: it invites middle school/junior high age youth (grades 6, 7, and 8 in school year 09-10) to come together for worship, to serve the commu-nity at a variety of service sites, to have fun together, and to make a difference in Jesus’ name. It’s also an opportunity for high school and college youth to mentor small groups and to lead by example, while receiving training and excellent ministry experience. And it welcomes adults to help make it happen by dividing up the work (organizing, driving, preparing projects, etc.)
WHAT HAPPENS? We meet at church on Tuesdays beginning at 8:30 am. After worship, we spend some time in a small group bible study and then leave to do service (for example, at Global Health Ministries, nursing homes, and providing free car wash). Lunch is back at church (everyone brings their own lunch). In the afternoon, the whole group shares in recreational activities (hiking at St. Croix Park, a movie, Bunker Beach Wave Pool). Attendance is expected for the whole day, not just morning or afternoon. Exceptions are made for things like service at Vacation Bible School and unavoidable appointments (e.g., doctor).
