Early Childhood Programs
Early Childhood Sunday School
Sunday School Lifeline Hour is for 3 year olds through 5th grade and meets on Sunday mornings from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM.
During our one hour Sunday school program the children learn Bible stories that will help them grow in their understanding of God’s word. Children will be encouraged in their relationship with Jesus Christ and how the truth of God’s words will impact them to live their lives as Christians. Parents must register their child in the lower education level each Sunday morning before attending our Lifeline Hour. Go downstairs and through the doors labeled Promiseland.
Early Childhood Preschool Program
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is pleased to offer the community an Early Childhood Preschool program that will help children in their developmental needs.
Our philosophy of teaching early childhood education:
- all children are a special gift from God
- each child is very unique
- each child has his/her own talents and gifts
- we encourage children to make decisions for themselves whenever possible and appropriate
- we instill learning through actual involvement
- we encourage participation that each child may grow and develop
Our job as teachers is:
- to create a classroom that a child can learn through play, curiosity, manipulatives, self-expression, social interaction, and a warm environment
- to provide a curriculum that stimulates a child’s natural curiosity and motivation to learn!
- to make sure your child is able to learn and explore without being pressured or cheating out of his/her childhood. (We believe that young children are to enjoy the beauty of being what they are right now—instead of “getting ready” to be older!)
It is our hope to provide for your child a climate of love, acceptance, support, warmth, and caring. We want them to know their well being is as important to us as our own. The children will know that we do love them. They are special and we do care. We want children to have positive self-esteem knowing that they are lovable and capable.
